PS5: the series reaches PlayStation for the first time
State of Decay has never appeared on a PlayStation console before. State of Decay 3 breaks that pattern: the June 7, 2026 reveal confirmed a PlayStation 5 version, making this the first entry Sony players can pick up. Note that Game Pass remains an Xbox/PC route — on PS5 you buy the game normally, and its price is not yet announced. Our PS5 page tracks everything specific to that version.
Xbox Play Anywhere: one purchase, console + PC
State of Decay 3 supports Xbox Play Anywhere — buy it once digitally through the Xbox ecosystem and play on both Xbox Series X|S and Windows PC. Combined with cloud streaming and a day-one Game Pass release, the Xbox side offers the most ways in: subscribe, buy once for two device types, or stream without a download.
What about Switch and last-gen consoles?
Nothing announced. No Nintendo Switch version and no Xbox One or PlayStation 4 versions have been mentioned in any official material. The confirmed list is current-generation consoles, PC, and cloud. If additional platforms are ever announced, this page updates the same day and the news timeline logs it.
